Our Zkittlez clones — also known as The Original Z — are one of the most important and recognizable cultivars in modern California cannabis. This cut originated with 3rd Gen Family / Terp Hogz. He took it, refined it, and entered it into competitions. It won 1st Place at the 2016 Emerald Cup in Santa Rosa. It also took 1st Place Indica at the 2015 High Times Cannabis Cup in both San Francisco and Michigan. From there, its reputation spread coast to coast.

Genetics

Growing Tips

Veg Stage: Zkittlez is sturdy and self-supporting. It builds a solid, branchy structure in veg without heavy intervention. Top early to increase flowering sites. Low-stress training helps fill out the canopy and improves yield.

Early Flower: Expect moderate stretch in the first two to three weeks after flip. Buds set quickly and stack well. This cultivar is notably resistant to mold and mildew. That makes it a reliable option across a range of environments, including outdoor and mixed-light.

Late Flower (Weeks 7–9): Back off nutrients around week 7. This allows the tropical candy terpene profile to fully develop. To bring out the purple and violet color expression, drop night temperatures to around 65°F. This activates the anthocyanins from the Grape Ape genetics.
