The cross
The Watermelon Zkittlez mother is a cut we hunted ourselves out of a pack of Dying Breed seeds in January 2019. She supplies melon and candy fruit, the note that separates her from the rest of the Z family.
Wedding Cake is the Seed Junky cross of Triangle Kush and Animal Mints. She brings vanilla and cake batter over earthy spice, heavy yield, sturdy lateral branching and tight internodal spacing. Where the Zkittlez side gives flavor, she gives the plant something to hang it on.
Both parents are well established, which makes this a lower-risk hunt than the heirloom material on the regular side of the menu. A good first pack if you have not run seeds before.
What to look for in Watermelon Zkittlez x Wedding Cake seeds
- Melon against vanilla is a narrow target. The plants that blend the two are worth more than the ones that shout either.
- Wedding Cake density needs airflow. Favor candidates that stack without closing up entirely.
- Yield tracks with the Wedding Cake side. Weigh your top candidates rather than judging by eye.
- Color often shows in this pairing. It is not the primary trait, but it does not hurt.
