The cross
The Lemon Cherry Gelato mother came out of Oakland in 2019 and brings the black cherry sweetness, the potency, and the dark purple the line is known for. The Wedding Cake side is a Seed Junky cut we sourced from Moss Landing in 2018, and it supplies structure, yield and color.
We already run a selection from this cross in the clone catalog. Cherry Nova seeds come from that same work, so you are hunting the population we hunted rather than a copy of it.
What to look for in Cherry Nova seeds
From our original pheno hunt, Lemon Cherry Gelato came in strong in about half the progeny, and 10 to 20 percent carried a cherry candy aroma and flavor. Those are the odds you are working with.
- Purple comes off the Lemon Cherry Gelato side and needs cool nights late to show.
- Wedding Cake structure means dense flower. Keep airflow ahead of it through the last three weeks.
- Black cherry over vanilla is the target. Plants that finish as generic sweet have lost the mother.
- Judge color, trichome coverage and bract swell together. Bag appeal is the commercial argument here.
